Teeth Whitening

Teeth Whitening for a Beautiful, Sparkling Smile

Teeth whitening can significantly reduce dental discoloration and help you feel great about your appearance. Dental stains are one of the most common esthetic concerns, and can appear because of age, foods and drinks, and other common causes. Dr. Lo will help you choose the right type of whitening for you, and she can also provide touch-up treatments to maintain your enhanced smile.

Professional Whitening vs. Store-Bought Products

With the growing popularity of teeth whitening, there are a number of do-it-yourself products to choose from. Unfortunately, most of these store-bought treatments provide minimal results, at best. On the other hand, professional whitening treatments are effective, and they will not hurt your teeth and gums. If finances are a concern, we can help you find an affordable option. Most patients consider dentist-provided whitening to be a worthwhile investment in their appearance and self-confidence.

At-Home and In-Office Whitening

At Pure Smile Dental, we offer both in-office and at-home whitening. Both methods use peroxide-based whitening gel to break apart stains and lighten your smile by several shades. Office whitening takes about an hour. After covering your teeth in whitening gel, Dr. Lo or your hygienist will use a special light to activate the peroxide and speed treatment. After your whitening, your smile could be several shades lighter.

Home whitening takes a bit longer, but it can provide comparable results to office care. You will receive a set of custom-made trays. After filling the trays with whitening gel, you will wear them for 30 to 45 minutes a day for about two weeks. Because the trays will be so carefully crafted, the gel will not come in contact with your gums. Therefore, you can enjoy a beautiful smile with little to no discomfort.
